In this module, I learned about learning design and active learning principles. I explored H5P, a tool that allows you to create, share and reuse a variety of interactive and engaging learning activities. I also created a lesson plan using Backword Design Principle. At the end, I reflected on my experience.

Reflection Question:
Q) What was your experience of trying out H5P? Which of the activities do you think you would make most use of in your teaching context and what would you use them to do? Which ones do you think require the most resources to create?
This is my first time using H5P and it is another amazing tool i have found in this course. There are so many activities available in H5P which gives us a range of option’s to choose from.
I think there are activities in H5P like quizzes, charts and dialogue cards, etc. which will help the teacher to teach the content more easily and will help the students to understand the content more thoroughly. If I made a video for learning purpose, I can use the activity “interactive video” which will help me to add features like quizzes, MCQ, tables, fill in the blanks, in my video and the video will be more effective in providing knowledge to the learner. There are activities like “Memory game” and “Find the word” which can be used in lesson to make the lesson more fun and engaging.
I have explored around 10 of the activities out of 52 in H5P and i feel most of them are very easy to use. The activity which may require more resources may be “interactive video” because in order to use this activity, you will have to direct your video accordingly which will take lot of extra time, plus adding the activities features in the video will also take time and resources.

Hi, Jaswant, I really like your topic. I am also a fan of many sports, and this subject appeals to me. At the same time, this lesson could be understood from your teachings about how sports can keep us physically and mentally fit while helping us positively improve in our lives. I have experienced your H5Ps, and I think they may be a little too simple for me, but they are helpful for young people who want to learn how to spell the English names of different sports and how to distinguish between the different sports. However, I think the placement of your H5P should be in the middle of the application so that students can have a general understanding of what they are learning before they experience your H5P. Finally, I noticed that you have a problem with one of the video site links; it doesn’t take me to the address of the video. Overall, it was a good teaching experience, but some of the details could have been better.

Hi Jaswant,
I really enjoyed your approach to this lesson; it follows while the template perfectly and gives a succinct amount of resources/tips at each step. I specifically took a liking to your activity for students to walk around a sports facility and try different sports so they can experience first-hand the benefits of being active and have fun while doing it. This clearly promotes active learning and sheds light on the ideas taught in Bloom’s taxonomy; for example, getting students to actively participate, remember rules, and carrying discipline to other areas of their life.
I appreciate you reassuring that my choice to be active everyday is a good one. Awesome job!
